September 2011 Promo

For some reason it feels like it has been a while since my last promotional compilation, but I am back to feed you with some of the best masterpieces the genres have to offer this September. Lank starts the journey with his remix of 'Subberman' a beautifully crafted progressive techno tune that looks like it will have a long shelf life in my record box, and is also one of my top ten tracks for this month. Luke Porter amazes me once again with 'Opiate' - a dark prog house tune that I will surely be playing a lot during live sets. Lank delivers again with his deep, euphoric remix of DJ Tarkan's 'Chervilo' at track 3, taking you on a never-ending journey that will surely leave the listener befuddled with their surroundings.

If any of my fellow New Yorkers attended the last Eklectronic party over here, and heard Lucas PM behind the decks, then you probably already heard track 7. This is one of those tracks that I don't skip when putting my iPod on shuffle. This is what trance is all about, being put in a trance, a paralysis for a period of time where nothing can touch you for this moment. Mobilize perfected this with his track 'Tango'. Thanks to Lucas for bringing this feeling back, because sometimes, with all the watered down trance that gets released today that masks the pure stuff, its easy to forget this feeling. With this being said, it's older tracks and classics time! 'Tango' being a bit of an older tune itself, is followed by a progressive trancer from Tenthu, that I used to bang out in 07. A great groovy, melody driven track. Up next we have the classic that put Activa on the map! An original of his own on Somatic Sense from 2004 - 'In Essence', and I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard this tune. Ahhh that's what it's all about...

As time shifts forward, we enter the uplifting world with a brand new remix of an older 'M.I.K.E.' tune under his alias 'Moon Project'. I am not the biggest supporter of older tracks being reworked, but always curious to hear how they come out. This rework of 'Moments Are Forever' is a beauty. Manuel Le Saux makes his debut on Discover Records with his latest nostalgic epic trancer 'Capricorn'. Billy Gillies, a new name on the trance horizon, leaves his imprint with 'Digital Sundown', and Paul Todd ups the ante with an amazing remix that is def one of my top tracks at the moment. To close it out we have the drivin' sound of 'Wonderland' from Ultimate, a name that I am always thrilled to see when looking for new music. For more info visit www.facebook.com/roryjamesmusic
